How to use a soil hardness meter correctly?

What is a soil hardness meter?
Soil hardness is an indicator of soil quality. It can reflect other factors such as the degree of soil damage and friction, and will have a huge impact on the quality of agricultural planting. Therefore, it is very necessary to use a soil hardness speed tester to detect soil hardness.

The soil hardness meter uses the theoretical value Kg/Cm2 of the pressure gauge to directly measure the hardness value of the soil. The soil hardness meter can be used to investigate the water permeability, aeration, and soil properties of large-scale machine operations very conveniently and accurately.




The correct steps to use a soil hardness meter are as follows:

1. First, return the dial pointer to zero and adjust it to the zero scale;

2. Level the soil surface to be measured, and then insert all parts of the instrument into the soil until the (mouth) part.

3. Pull out the hardness tester vertically and read the hardness indication value from the table.

4. After reading the measured value, please rotate the driven needle knob to return the indicator meter to zero.

5. If there is soil attached to the inside of the side head, the measurement value will become incorrect. Please rotate the (orifice) counterclockwise to remove the round sleeve. Please clean it and then turn it to a fixed position to measure again.

6. This product has a built-in GPS positioning and depth measurement system, which can display soil compactness, measurement depth, and geographical location at the same time. After being connected to a computer, it can automatically generate a soil compactness curve for each measurement point. This product also has a memory button. When this button is pressed, the stored test data (memory data) will be recalled and displayed on the screen in sequence. At this time, the word "MEM" will flash. The memory number will be displayed first, and the memory data will be automatically displayed after 2 seconds. Press the "Peak" key to exit memory.

7. Before testing the soil hardness meter, attention should be paid to aligning the cursor with the zero point. To measure soil hardness, measure several points at different locations and take the average. After the test is completed, the instrument must be cleaned in time. When cleaning the instrument, you should use a soft cloth to clean it. Soak the cloth in water with detergent, wring it out, and then remove dust and dirt. Use the matching charger to charge the instrument, otherwise, it may cause circuit failure or even cause a fire.
