What is a parallel bioreactors?
Parallel bioreactors are a method of culturing cells through different types of units. By simultaneously culturing two or more units of the same or different types, it is possible to simultaneously prepare multiple proteins or antibodies in one or more cell culture units.

Advantages of parallel bioreactors.
1. Reduce production costs
Parallel bioreactors can significantly reduce cell culture costs. Within a unit, a cell culture system usually includes a cell culture tank, which is composed of a series of cell culture units, each of which includes a bioreactor and a centrifuge.
All cells within a unit are used to prepare the product. The unit can be utilized multiple times depending on the type of product required. In addition, since the culture cycle of each unit is the same, there is no need to set up additional reactors for amplification during the production process, which can greatly reduce production costs.
2. Improve training efficiency
Compared with traditional cell culture, parallel bioreactors can greatly improve cell growth efficiency and significantly increase cell product yields. The methods for cultivating cells in parallel bioreactors mainly include fed-batch culture, batch shake flask culture and batch fermentation.
3. Improve the cell culture environment
When cells grow in liquid, they cannot move freely due to their sensitivity to the liquid environment, and the flow rate of the liquid flow will also affect the growth of the cells. Parallel bioreactors can change the liquid environment by changing the stirring speed, stirring direction, liquid flow direction, etc., thereby improving the efficiency of cell growth and product production. Parallel bioreactors can also improve culture conditions and improve cell growth and product production efficiency by changing culture medium components (such as glucose, amino acids, lipids) or changing culture conditions (such as temperature, pH value, etc.).
4. Increase product output
Another important advantage of parallel bioreactors is that they can increase product yields through different cellular metabolic pathways, thereby better meeting the needs of different drugs and medical products. For example, some biopharmaceutical companies also use parallel bioreactors for antibody production. By adding two different types of antibodies to the same batch of culture media, antibodies with different titers are obtained, thereby achieving the purpose of increasing antibody titers, reducing production costs, reducing side effects, and improving drug production stability. Since biopharmaceutical companies have different requirements for antibody drugs, parallel bioreactors have different advantages in different situations.
